1. When placing the diamond dressing tool head on the holder, be careful not to hit the surface of the grinding wheel.
2. It is not possible to align the single-point diamond dressing tool head vertically at the center of the grinding wheel, generally it needs to be tilted 10-15°.
3. It is not possible to “quench” (referring to sudden coldness) to hot dressing tools. In dry dressing, the interval between two dressings must be maintained, which is sufficient to cool the heating dressing tool.
4. It cannot be assumed that the surface of the grinding wheel is perfectly flat. At the beginning of dressing, find out the point position of the grinding wheel and perform dressing.
5. If possible, the amount of each grinding wheel repair should not exceed 0.001 inches on the radius of the grinding wheel. Excessive repairing amount can cause premature wear and frequent breakage of the diamond dressing tool head.
6. But it is also not possible to remove too small a margin each time. The grinding wheel used on the old or poorly rigid machine tool may not be trimmed.
7. Be careful not to stay in one position for too long during the trimming. This will polish the surface of the grinding wheel, generate high temperatures and damage the diamond dressing tool. Turn the dressing tool at least once a day.
8. Can not continue to use worn or damaged dressing tools. It should be adjusted or replaced in time.
9. It is not possible to select over-removal amount and too fast infeed speed during rough trimming, and then select small trimming amount and slow infeed speed during finishing. This will quickly damage the diamond dressing tool. if possible,
It is recommended to choose the same infeed speed for rough trimming and finishing trimming.
 
To know:
1. Before using a new dresser, it should be withdrawn from the last dressing feed. Many brittle diamond dressing tools are easily damaged when they first come into contact with the grinding wheel.
2. Install the diamond dressing tool head at an inclined angle of 10-15°, so that it points to the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel.
3. Install the dresser or clamp the dressing tool firmly, and don’t hang the tool head too long.
4. When possible, try to use coolant. During the entire dressing time, use coolant to pour the contact between the dressing tool and the grinding wheel.
5. At the beginning of dressing, start from the point of the grinding wheel, usually the middle of the grinding wheel.
6. Pay attention to minor repairs. The maximum depth of trimming, for rough trimming: 0.001-0.002 inches. For finishing division: 0.0005 to 0.001 inches.
7. Select the appropriate lateral movement speed according to the relevant manual. The slower the lateral movement speed (within the allowable range), the lower the surface roughness of the grinding wheel obtained.
8. The grinding wheel must be trimmed within the specified time interval to prevent the grinding wheel from becoming dull and increase the grinding force.
9. Within the specified time interval, rotate the dressing tool in the tool holder 1/8 turn to ensure that the dressing tool is always sharp.
10. When the diamond dresser or tool head becomes blunt or obviously flattened, it should be adjusted and replaced in time.
11. According to the diameter of the grinding wheel, select the diamond CARAT amount (pure diamond content) reasonably. The larger the diameter of the grinding wheel, the greater the diamond CARAT value selected.
